senior maintenance mechanic - portland, indiana. Job . Large company in portland in is looking for a sr. Maintenance mechanic. This is a 70% electrical/30% mechanical role. So must be really strong electrically. This is a day shift role too. Prefer someone out of plastics but open to other manufacturing.

shift: days mon-fri with some weekend work 7am-4pm or 6am-3pm

pays: $38-$42 hourly

senior maintenance technician / industrial maintenance technician

location: portland, in

shift: 1st shift – 6:00 am–3:00 pm or 7:00 am–4:00 pm, monday–friday

schedule: some weekends and overtime required (24/7 plant operation)

pay rate: $38–$42 per hour (based on experience)

• troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair plcs and plc-controlled equipment, including ac/dc systems, 480/240/120v circuits, rectifiers, electrical controls, and bus systems.
• utilize diagnostic instruments and tools such as volt/ohm meters, oscilloscopes, amp probes, pyrometers, tachometers, ultrasonic testers, and computers to identify equipment issues.
• read and interpret electrical drawings, ladder logic diagrams, schematics, sketches, and facility drawings.
• perform basic plumbing and maintain facility systems including water, gas, waste, air, oil, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems using appropriate tools and materials.
• inspect, repair, and replace pneumatic and hydraulic hoses.
• troubleshoot and repair molding machines, grinders, augers, pumps, compressors, gearboxes, hydraulic systems, and other supporting equipment.
• perform all tasks required to maintain efficient production and high-quality output on all assigned machines.
• conduct equipment setup and changeovers on molding equipment as required.
• assist with preventive maintenance (pm) tasks within assigned areas.
• perform mold, neck tooling, pin, and additional equipment changes.
• communicate machine repair status and maintenance needs to the maintenance supervisor or manager.
• respond to emergency situations to ensure the safety of personnel, facility, and equipment.
• maintain or exceed standards for safety, quality, housekeeping, and production.
• may supervise and train other maintenance personnel within the department.
• complete assigned special projects as needed.
• assist in the development, updating, and continuous improvement of preventive maintenance programs.

• high school diploma or ged required; technical or vocational training or associate’s degree preferred.
• 5–10 years of industrial maintenance experience; injection or blow molding experience strongly preferred.
• strong electrical knowledge; electrician experience preferred.
• ability to read and interpret electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and logic schematics.
• advanced understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and plc systems.
• strong analytical and decision-making skills; experience using dmaic and fmea methodologies preferred.
• ability to operate powered industrial trucks.
• willingness to work flexible shifts, weekends, and overtime as needed.
