Overview
Berry Dunn is seeking a qualified full‑time Accounting Assistant to join our Healthcare Practice Group. The role provides support to service teams across a range of industries, handling confidential information discreetly and professionally. You will demonstrate strong organizational skills, detail orientation, and the ability to prioritize daily work while working independently and in a team. This position is based in Portland, ME, to support client work serviced from this location.
YouWill
- Provide accounting support including planning, basic preparation of financial statements and general journal entries.
- Proof and assist with preparation of client deliverables.
- Interact with clients to manage the flow of requested information.
- Execute consulting and assurance tasks (training will be provided).
- Serve as an “in‑the‑office” resource for remote and traveling team members.
- Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree.
- Working knowledge of the general ledger, basic financial statements, and adjusting entries.
- Attention to detail and quality.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Ability to stay ahead of projects and manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative team environment.
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
The hourly rate for this role is $27.00‑$32.00 per hour. This rate range represents Berry Dunn’s good faith estimate at the time of posting. Candidates with experience, education, or qualifications above the minimum requirements are encouraged to apply; a final rate may be based on those additional qualifications and will consider factors such as years of experience, depth of experience, seniority, merit, education, training, travel, and other considerations.
