As a member of our Wright-Ryan Homes division, you will join other experienced employee-owners in building some of Maine’s great homes. The Project Engineer will provide construction management support to the Wright-Ryan Homes project management team by overseeing all aspects of an assigned project, including planning, budgeting, and logistics.
Responsibilities- Support Project Managers by completing a variety of project management functions including material procurement and project manual development.
- Develop clear, complete understanding of the scope of construction projects by reviewing plans, documents, and proposed cost information including communication with owners, architects/engineers, vendors, and other project team members.
- Assist in the development of a sound project completion plan by establishing priorities, scheduling activities and time frames, developing clear, measurable progress benchmarks, and assigning responsibilities to meet company obligations.
- Ensure timely construction project starts consistent with preconstruction plans and owner needs.
- Anticipate project engineering issues and make necessary adjustments, timely decisions, rapid responses to changes and problems, and resolve requests for information in a clear and timely manner, keeping the Project Manager informed.
- Assist with project closeouts by monitoring progress and ensuring that closeout procedures are started early and completed thoroughly at each step.
- Bachelor’s degree in construction, engineering or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- One to three years of related experience in the construction field.
- Understanding of the construction process with the ability to anticipate, identify, and address issues that impact performance risk and timing of project delivery.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications.
- Exceptional customer service skills and ability to work in a collaborative, team environment.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills to manage projects from start to finish with excellent attention to detail while working under pressure of deadlines.
- Ability to work in a clear, organized, and well documented manner to ensure compliance with contract documents, cost, schedule, and quality objectives.
- Ability to build long-term customer relationships.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software and technology (Word, Excel and Outlook) with experience in MS Project, Pro Core, and Bluebeam preferred.
