The Department of Psychiatry at Maine Health Maine Medical Center Portland (MHMMCP) is seeking a fellowship-trained and board-certified Geriatric Psychiatrist or Neuropsychiatrist to lead the Division of Geriatric Psychiatry. Successful candidates will be gifted clinician-educators committed to improving the lives of seniors, and excited to work with a team of like-minded colleagues.

The Geriatric Psychiatry Division offers evaluation and treatment of older adults with a wide range of psychiatric illness. We work closely with geriatric medicine and neurology in caring for patients with complex illness. Our clinical staff includes geriatric psychiatrists, geriatric psychiatry nurse practitioners, psychologists and clinical social workers.

In addition to clinical care, we provide a major teaching resource for MHMMC. We train and mentor Geriatric Medicine and Addiction Medicine fellows, Psychiatry residents, Tufts University School of Medicine medical students, Social Work and Psychology interns, and trainees in other fields. We have a culture of continuous quality improvement and our performance in the areas of safety, quality, and satisfaction are consistently excellent.

Physicians are expected to apply for faculty appointment to the Tufts University School of Medicine.
