Job DescriptionThe Kingdom East School District, Student Services, is seeking an Early Childhood (preschool through 2nd grade) Intensive Instructional Assistant (IIA) who is energetic and loves working and playing with children ages 3 to 8 years old. The IIA position's purpose is to develop and interpret individual needs of students with disabilities by helping to create and implement behavior and/or instructional support programs with consultation with the early childhood special educator and preschool teacher/director.
Currently this assignment will be at the Burke Town School but based on student needs may be flexible and needed in other Kingdom East Preschools and Partner Preschool Programs. The IIA provides observable student data that meet the IEP Program or EST goals of students with developmental delay and/or other special needs. Position will target goal‑directive services to assist students in accessing instruction in a developmentally appropriate, functional and independent manner.
Candidates must successfully complete the Para Pro assessment or higher degree. Candidates must have reliable transportation each day. Background check, including fingerprinting required upon employment.
Kingdom East School District is located in the heart of a vibrant community in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. We operate seven preK-8th grade schools ranging from 60 to 500 students. Our high school students have “choice” and may opt to attend one of the traditional independent schools — Lyndon Institute or St. Johnsbury Academy — or another high school of their choosing.
