  • Collaborate closely with the Club Unit Director to support daily operations, staffing needs, and overall program quality.
  • Ensure a safe, inclusive, and positive environment by enforcing organizational policies, safety procedures, and behavior management practices.
  • Monitor program outcomes and participation, using data and observation to continuously improve program quality and youth engagement.
  • Support the implementation of special BGCA‑specific initiatives, grants, and themed programming as assigned.
  • Foster positive relationships with youth, families, staff, and community partners to support youth development and retention.
  • Maintain accurate program documentation, attendance records, and reports in compliance with organizational and grant funding requirements.
  • Assist with special events, field trips, and seasonal programming as needed.
  • Serve as a positive role model who embodies BGCSM’s mission, values, and commitment to youth development.
Qualifications
  • 2–4 years of experience working with youth in a recreational or educational setting.
  • 2+ years of managing a team of at least 3 people.
  • Bachelor’s degree in education, child development, recreation, or a related field preferred.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite or other related software.
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities at one time.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and build positive relationships with youth, families, and staff.
  • Knowledge of youth development principles and trauma‑informed practices.
  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
Compensation & Benefits
  • Starting salary at $55,000 annually; commensurate with experience.
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance upon meeting eligibility requirements.
  • Up to 17 PTO days, 5 Maine Earned Paid Leave days and 12 paid holidays within first 2 years of employment; increased PTO based on length of service.
  • 401(k) retirement plan with match upon completion of eligibility requirements.
  • Opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of youth.
  • Professional development opportunities.
