Senior Civil Engineering Manager – Portland, Maine
WSP is seeking a Senior Civil Engineering Manager to lead multidisciplinary design teams on civil and environmental projects including site development, infrastructure, landfills, stream restoration, and soil/groundwater remediation.
Responsibilities- Plan, design, and model site grading, surface preparation, stormwater, and stormwater management systems.
- Prepare engineering design calculations, reports, and construction drawings.
- Use AutoCAD Civil3D for surface models and earthwork quantity takeoffs.
- Interpret construction drawings and technical specifications; develop construction details.
- Prepare permitting documents for local, state, and federal permits.
- Perform construction inspection and oversight activities.
- Mentor and lead junior engineers.
- Communicate effectively with teammates, clients, and stakeholders.
- Support safety initiatives and ensure a safe work environment.
- Occasionally travel to project sites (≈20% overnight).
- B.S. or M.S. in civil, environmental, or related engineering.
- 7–10 years of civil/environmental design experience.
- PE license or ability to obtain within 1 year.
- Experience with grading, drainage, and stormwater modeling.
- Knowledge of erosion & sediment control and stormwater permitting.
- Strong analytical skills for design calculations, reports, specifications, and drawings.
- Proficient in AutoCAD Civil3D.
- 40‑hour OSHA HAZWOPER training is a plus.
