Job Description & How to Apply Below

Woodard & Curran is an employee-owned engineering, science, and operations firm dedicated to clean water, a safe environment, healthy communities, and happy people. We foster an inclusive, collaborative culture that supports professional growth, flexibility, and meaningful work, empowering our employees to make a lasting impact on our clients, communities, and the planet.

Who We Are Looking For:

We are looking for a motivated Electrical Engineering Intern to join our company. If you want to jumpstart your career and expand your skills while working alongside talented, experienced experts, then this is the opportunity for you! We are a mission-driven organization that puts our people first, with a culture that focuses on providing meaningful work, engaging challenges, recognition, and reward.

Our electrical engineering group is committed to the internship model and it has proven to be a beneficial pipeline for developing future full-time engineers after graduation.

What You Will Be Doing At Woodard & Curran:

Duties and responsibilities vary based on level of experience, project expectations, individual motivation, and aptitude for learning and applied concepts. An intern will generally shadow experienced professionals and participate as a member of a team by contributing to actual projects. Interns can apply what they have learned “from the classroom” via experience-based learning. We will give you the opportunity to assist with entry level engineering assignments which may include:

  • Electrical distribution, relaying, power generation, motor control, and lighting projects for our industrial, water, wastewater, municipal, design-build, and plant operations clients on a regional and national basis.
  • Prepare and coordinate engineering reports, studies, calculations, drawings, and specifications.
  • Perform construction phase services such as shop drawing review, contractor oversight, and QA/QC functions to ensure accuracy and adequacy of work products.
  • Your work will come in varying degrees of complexity and although you will work independently on most projects, our experienced engineers will be there to answer questions and provide on-the-job mentoring.
What You Will Need To Succeed:
  • The ideal candidate will be a second- or third-year Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology major.
  • Experience or interest in power system design, motor control, instrumentation, PLC based control systems, and technical writing is highly desired.
  • Coursework or experience with AutoCAD and/or Revit a plus.
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED.

We are interested in every qualified candidate who is eligible to work in the United States. However, we are not able to sponsor visas for this job opening.

$21 - $24 an hour

Pay:

This position’s anticipated pay range is provided above; final exempt salary or non-exempt hourly pay will be dependent on experience level as well as considering a % based geographic differential based on where the final candidate will be working. Geographic differentials are used to recognize and reflect cost of labor differences between geographic markets.
