POSITION SUMMARYThe RN Consultantassists the administrator by performing administrative responsibilities in the overall delivery of care. Meets the responsibilities of the RN Consultant as outlined in the state regulations.
The RN Consultant will assist First Atlantic Healthcare's southern facilities that include Portland Center of Assisted Living (Portland), Hawthorne House (Freeport) and Montello Manor (Lewiston).
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS- Oversees nursing care and assures the Nursing Department is in compliance with allstate rules and regulations, meets the facility’s and ANA standards ofcare, and is in compliance with any applicable Federal rules / guidelines.
- Assures all nursing personnel have received appropriate training, orientation, an devaluation to deliver quality care.
- Assures all nursing personnel promote and maintain positive relationships with eachother, other departments, residents, families, visitors, and all community agencies.
- Researchesand recommends improved methods of delivery of nursing care. Coordinates
CQI process. - Collaborates with the Management Team to implement strategies to assure the delivery ofquality care and a timely admission and discharge process.
- Supportsadministration in meeting census and case mix goals.
- Demonstratesinterest in self-growth, professional study and knowledge update. Keepslicense current.
- Demonstratesinter‑departmental cooperation / collaboration and committee participation. Consults appropriately and is receptive to supervision /guidance.
- Dependableand demonstrates excellent attendance.
- Followsfacility policies and procedures.
- Reviewsresident medical records, care, procedures, and practices in the nursingdepartment, assesses the resident for appropriate care based areasassessed, and develops a written report which is given to the Administrator per state regulations. Must be familiar with state regulations.
- The position requires travel, as the RN will rotate between three First Atlantic facilities ( PCAL, Montello, Freeport Place).
- Managerial knowledge
- Experience innursing; minimum of two (2) years preferred
- Grasp of clinical nursing issues and ability to teach / direct staff.
- Ability to lead the nursing department in such a way to meet the high standards of the facility.
- Ability to workunder pressure with interruptions.
- Capability to plan,organize and direct nursing service for the residents.
- Ability to evaluatenursing service employees.
- Ability to teachcorrect clinical nursing methods.
- Knowledge and understanding of federal and state rules and regulations.
- Ability tocomprehend, supervise, and practice safety procedures and practices.
- Ability to beemployed per state regulations / or as deemed necessary.
- Valid license as aRegistered Nurse in the state of Maine
