Position Overview - Open to Remote, as long as able to work PST hoursWe are seeking a Software Developer with strong SQL expertise to join our team. In this role, you’ll design, optimize, and maintain the SQL‑based data backbone of our SaaS platform, while contributing to automation and AI‑driven enhancements. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, highly analytical, and excited to work with large datasets, complex queries, and emerging AI tools to power smarter retail solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, optimize, and maintain complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and database structures to support the Field Stack platform.
- Work with cross‑functional teams to translate business requirements into scalable database solutions.
- Enhance system performance by analyzing queries, indexing, and tuning for efficiency.
- Design and maintain data pipelines and integrations with automation tools and APIs.
- Support the integration of AI and machine learning models into the platform by preparing, structuring, and optimizing data.
- Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance across environments.
- Document data models, processes, and workflows to support ongoing improvements.
- 3+ years of professional experience in SQL development (MS SQL Server, Postgre
SQL, or similar). - Strong knowledge of relational database design, indexing, and query optimization.
- Experience developing stored procedures, triggers, and views.
- Familiarity with data pipelines, ETL processes, and automation frameworks.
- Exposure to AI/ML concepts and a willingness to learn how to apply them to SQL‑driven workflows.
- Proficiency in a programming/scripting language (e.g., Python, JavaScript, or C#) is a plus.
- Understanding of cloud database services (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, or GCP equivalents) is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience.
