Overview

The Procurement Manager leads the firm's procurement function, developing purchasing policies, sourcing strategies, vendor management practices, and contract processes that support cost control, compliance, risk management, and operational efficiency. This role manages key spend categories, negotiates vendor agreements, evaluates supplier performance, and uses procurement data to drive savings and business value.

Travel Expectations: This role requires minimal travel, less than 10% per year.

You Will
  • Develop, implement, and maintain procurement policies, procedures, approval thresholds, sourcing strategies, and purchasing standards that align with the firm's objectives, regulatory and risk frameworks, business needs, financial goals, and budget requirements. This includes building and managing a compliance vendor management program with information security to integrate security and privacy due diligence into vendor selection, onboarding, contract negotiation and monitoring.
  • Lead strategic sourcing and competitive procurement processes for key spend categories, including software/SaaS, technology, professional services, facilities, office operations, and other significant vendor relationships.
  • Manage competitive procurement processes, including market research, vendor identification, proposal evaluation, pricing analysis, negotiation, and award recommendations.
  • Negotiate, administer and monitor vendor contracts, pricing terms, service level agreements, renewals, amendments, and related documentation in partnership with Finance, Legal, IT, Facilities, and business stakeholders.
  • Oversee vendor management practices, including onboarding, performance monitoring, relationship management, issue resolution, renewal planning, and periodic vendor assessments.
  • Manage purchasing operations, including procurement requests, purchase orders, approvals, invoice coordination, documentation, and compliance with established policies, procedures, and contract requirements.
  • Analyze procurement spend, vendor costs, pricing trends, budget impacts, savings opportunities, and contract utilization; provide analysis and recommendations to support cost-effective purchasing and financial planning.
  • Monitor procurement-related risks, including vendor, contract compliance, cybersecurity, data privacy, financial stability, insurance, and business continuity risks; recommend mitigation strategies and escalation paths.
  • Manage procurement systems, purchasing workflows, reporting, analytics, and documentation practices that improve visibility, efficiency, accountability, and decision-making.
  • Maintain procurement documentation, approval records, vendor files, contract records, and purchasing audit trails.
  • Serve as a procurement subject matter expert and trusted advisor to internal stakeholders, providing guidance on sourcing options, vendor selection, contract considerations, purchasing processes, policy requirements, and procurement best practices.
  • Lead procurement-related projects and process improvement initiatives that standardize purchasing practices, reduce administrative burden, strengthen controls, and improve stakeholder experience.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position may not have direct supervisory responsibility for dedicated procurement staff. However, The Procurement Manager provides functional leadership, guidance, and direction to employees across departments who are involved in purchasing, vendor management, contract administration, and procurement-related processes. This includes advising procurement standards, coordinating cross-functional work, supporting process compliance, and influencing consistent purchasing practices across the firm.

You Have
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain Management, Operations, or a related field required.
  • 5–10+ years of procurement, purchasing, sourcing, contract administration, or vendor management experience.
  • Experience supporting procurement in a professional services, consulting, accounting, legal, engineering, advisory, or similar business environment preferred.
  • Experience sourcing and managing software/SaaS, technology, professional services, facilities, office operations, or other business services.
  • Experience leading sourcing processes, evaluating vendors, negotiating agreements, and managing key spend categories.
  • Working knowledge of procurement controls, purchasing workflows, vendor risk management, contract compliance, and audit documentation requirements.
  • Strong analytical, financial, negotiation, project management, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency with procurement systems, reporting tools, and contract management platforms.
  • Ability to analyze procurement spend, track savings opportunities, monitor vendor performance, and communicate procurement insights to business leaders.
  • Professional certifications such as CPSM, CPSD, CPPB, CTPRP, or related procurement certification preferred.
