Position: *Goodwill VISTA* Turning Points Communications Specialist
Overview

The Goodwill VISTA Turning Points Communications Specialist role with Ameri Corps VISTA program supports Turning Points Network (TPN), a private, non-profit agency dedicated to enhancing the safety and well-being of victims and survivors of domestic violence, sexual violence, and stalking within Sullivan County, NH. We strive to create a community responsive to all victims and survivors through education, outreach, and accountability, empowering the community to establish a safer culture.

TPN has served as the sole source of 24-hour crisis intervention and advocacy services to thousands of victim-survivors and their families in Sullivan County regardless of location, time of day, or income level. TPN has the only emergency shelter within Sullivan County for survivors of domestic violence and routinely houses up to 16 individuals. The geographic area for this program covers Sullivan County, in the Upper Valley on the western edge of the state.

The communities comprising the service area include Acworth, Charlestown, Claremont, Cornish, Croydon, Goshen, Grantham, Langdon, Lempster, Newport, Plainfield, Springfield, Sunapee, Unity, and Washington. In addition to direct service, TPN staff deliver prevention education in schools to ages Pre School through High School and to community organizations. TPN currently covers 75% of schools across Sullivan County and provides programming to more than 1,500 students annually.

Duties
  • Develop engaging content tailored for a younger demographic (under 40).
  • Assist in managing TPN's social media accounts to reach this demographic.
  • Collaborate in planning and promoting events targeted at youth engagement.
  • Engage with local schools, colleges, and youth organizations.
  • Develop new strategies to attract and retain volunteers.
