Travel Nurse Job Details
  • Location: Portland, ME 04102 – Discover Maine nursing jobs in a city renowned for its vibrant culture, scenic waterfront, and historic charm.
  • Healthcare Setting: Level One Trauma Center Operating Room (26 beds, 1:1 patient ratio)
  • Assignment Duration: 13-week travel contract (Start: 11/30/2025 – End: 2/28/2026)
  • Shift: 12-hour day shifts (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
  • Hours per Week: 36
  • Weekend Requirement: 1 in 4 weekends
  • Call Requirement: One overnight trauma call (11:00 PM – 7:00 AM); additional specialty team call as scheduled
  • Employment Type: Travel nursing contract
Registered Nurse Qualifications
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – required for all U.S. nursing jobs
  • Minimum 3 years of Level 1 trauma operating room experience
  • Proficiency in Robotics (Davinci Xi), PCNLs, Nephrectomies, Ureteral Reimplants, Hysterectomies, Cystectomies, Colpocleisis, Hysteroscopies, and Ureteroscopies
  • Experience caring for patients across the lifespan: pediatrics to geriatrics
  • CNOR certification preferred
  • Familiarity with Epic EMR and surgical equipment (Storz, Stryker, Olympus, Intuitive Robot)
  • Strong teamwork, flexibility, and accountability
Key Responsibilities for OR RN
  • Deliver expert perioperative nursing care for gynecologic and genitourinary surgeries
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams in a high-stress trauma setting
  • Demonstrate advanced skills in surgical technologies and robotics
  • Provide compassionate, patient-centered care to diverse age groups
  • Participate in trauma and specialty team calls as scheduled
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation using Epic EMR
  • Adhere to hospital protocols and dress code (teal scrubs provided)
