Travel RN - Med​/Surg - Neuro

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Neuro RN for a night shift position requiring 2+ years of neuro/neurosurgical experience and ME or compact RN licensure.

• Active ME or compact RN license required upon consideration
• Minimum 2 years of neuro/neurosurgical experience required
• BLS certification required (AHA certification must be completed prior to start if submitted with a non-AHA equivalent)
• Driver's License required for consideration
• Two professional references required

• Neuro/Ortho/Trauma unit with 26 beds
• Patient population includes neurosurgical cases (spinal surgery, spine fractures, brain tumors), seizure disorders, VP shunts, head bleeds, traumatic injuries, and joint replacement surgery
• Patient ratios of 1:4-5 on days and 1:5-6 on nights
• Night shift schedule, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required as needed, including a 25-mile float policy between facilities
• No call requirements
• Uses Epic EMR
• Provide nursing care to neurosurgical, trauma, and orthopedic patients in a surgical unit setting
• Scrubs of any color accepted; professional appearance must be maintained at all times
• Candidates should be proactive team players with a positive attitude
• RTO should be minimized, with 3-4 days considered reasonable for a 13-week contract
• Local candidates within 90 miles of any Maine Health facility are accepted but not eligible for renewals or extensions
• Candidates who have worked at any Maine Health facility within the past 12 months should disclose this during consideration
• First-time travelers may be considered
