American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Telemetry RN for a night shift travel position requiring 2 years of experience and telemetry/tracheostomy skills.
Details- 43-bed Medical Telemetry/IMC unit
- Patient population includes respiratory, medical telemetry, some surgical, sepsis, DKA, altered mental status, failure to thrive, and respiratory failure cases
- Patient ratios are 1:4-5 on day shift Med/Surg, 1:5-6 on night shift Med/Surg, and 3:1 for IMC day and night
- Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call requirements
- Uses Epic EMR
- Equipment includes ventilators, BiPAP, CPAP, nasal cannula, non-rebreather masks, epidural pumps, IV pumps, specialty beds, PCA pumps, VAC dressings, and trach care/maintenance supplies
- Floating required between IMC units, med/surg units, and similar level of care units based on unit need within a 25-mile float policy
- Active RN license (Maine or compact) required upon consideration
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience required in the specialty
- IMC RNs must have ventilator experience
- All RNs must have experience with tracheostomy care and reading/interpreting telemetry strips
- Driver's License required for consideration
- 2 professional references required
- Provide direct patient care in a fast-paced medical telemetry and IMC environment
- Candidates must demonstrate teamwork, flexibility, strong communication, and patient-centered care
- Professional dress required; unprofessional clothing and non-hospital logo attire are not permitted
- Holiday coverage is based on need, with efforts made to avoid scheduling staff for all winter holidays
- RTO should be kept to a minimum, with 3-4 days considered reasonable for a 13-week contract
- Candidates within 90 miles of any Maine Health facility are considered local and are not eligible for contract renewals or extensions
- First-time travelers may be considered for this position
