American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Telemetry RN for a day shift travel assignment requiring 2+ years of experience and telemetry/trach care skills.
Details- Medical Telemetry/IMC unit with 43 beds
- Day shift schedule, 7:00 AM-7:30 PM, 36 guaranteed hours weekly
- Every other weekend required, holidays as needed with effort to limit winter holiday assignments
- Patient ratios:
Day shift Med/Surg 1:4-5, Night shift Med/Surg 1:5-6, IMC 3:1 (day and night) - Patient population includes respiratory conditions, medical telemetry, some surgical cases, sepsis, DKA, altered mental status, failure to thrive, respiratory failure, and acute-on-chronic medical conditions
- Uses ventilators, BiPAP, CPAP, nasal cannula, non-rebreather masks, epidural pumps, IV pumps, specialty beds, PCA pumps, VAC dressings, and trach care equipment
- Epic EMR used
- Float requirements apply: IMC RNs may float to other IMC units or med/surg as needed;
Med/Surg RNs may float to similar level med/surg units within a 25-mile radius - No on-call requirements
- Active RN license (Maine or compact) required
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- IMC RNs must have ventilator experience
- Experience with tracheostomy care and telemetry strip interpretation required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Driver's license required for consideration
- 2 professional references required
- Provide direct patient care for medical telemetry and IMC patients including respiratory and post-surgical cases
- Complete mandatory onboarding education upon hire
- Team-oriented environment requiring flexibility, strong communication, and patient-centered care
- Professional attire required; no unprofessional clothing or non-hospital branded logos permitted on unit
- Use of Air Pods, laptops, and cell phones is prohibited while on the unit
- RTO should be minimal, with 3-4 days considered reasonable for a 13-week contract at manager's discretion
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates within 90 miles of any Maine Health facility are accepted
- Candidates who have worked at any Maine Health facility within the past 12 months should disclose this during consideration
