Food Programs currently has As Needed staff positions available. Responsibilities include loading and unloading food boxes; organizing and maintaining pantries and other physically demanding tasks that support the work of Preble Street’s Food Programs. As Needed Staff also assist in meal preparations;
Mobile Food Services and in Food Pantry operations, including set up, breakdown, and storage.
Vocational training in food service, or 1-3 years of work experience. Candidates must have an understanding of, and positive regard for, homeless and low-income consumers, understanding of low-barrier service delivery challenges, and the ability to establish boundaries and set limits. Experience working in a team setting and with a diverse population is helpful;
Serv Safe certification is a plus.

* As-Needed positions have an hourly wage of $18.00 and work a maximum of 28 hours per week.
