Overview
The Dining Aide is responsible for all general sanitation duties. These duties include:
- Daily operation of the dish room and pots and pans cleaning area.
- Performing sanitation duties as assigned which include but are not limited to, sweeping and mopping floors, wiping walls, tables, and chairs, cleaning employee restrooms, all kitchen cooking equipment, refrigerated, frozen, and dry storage area, and loading dock area.
- Ensures that proper sanitation and safety standards are maintained.
- Maintaining serving line supplies, including milk and beverage machines.
- Washing and cutting vegetables and assisting in salad room.
- Stocking salad bar and deli areas.
- Refilling and replacing condiments (i.e., salt/pepper shakers, napkins, sugar, and jelly).
- Stacking dishware, pots, pans, and glassware for service.
- Occasionally assists with other kitchen and catering duties.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Commitment to customer service.
- Ability to understand and practice recycling and other sustainability practices.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Ability to follow written and oral direction.
- No prior experience necessary.
- Someone who has an eye for detail and is a thorough cleaner.
- Some previous related experience.
- Demonstrated reliability as well as neat and clean appearance.
- Serv Safe certification (Dining employees will be provided training within their first six months to become certified).

Off - The role will be required to work occasional overtime, holidays, and during weather emergencies, in addition to working major college events and weekends (i.e., Parent’s Weekend, Commencement, and Reunions).
- This is a full-time, academic year position (0.73 FTE) – typically goes August to May each year.
