Overview
The Salvation Army's Adult Rehabilitation Centers make a difference in people's lives. Through the collection and resale of gently used goods, we provide financial support to assist men and women with a variety of social and spiritual afflictions. The in‑residence rehabilitation program focuses on basic necessities, offering a clean and healthy living environment, good food, work therapy, leisure time activities, group and individual counseling, and spiritual direction.
All of our effort is geared toward developing life skills and fostering a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ. More than just a job, each team member contributes to recycling goods that literally recycle and repair broken lives.
We are seeking a Sorter/Processor to perform varying functions to support the sorting room or production area of a Production Store.
Responsibilities Sorter- Process and sort donations by inspecting and separating sellable from unsaleable items.
- Deliver a minimum of 300 store‑quality garments per hour.
- Categorize and box seasonal clothing, bric‑and‑morty, and shoes.
- Process, hang, and tag all sorted merchandise.
- Deliver a minimum of 225 hung garments per hour.
- Ensure clothes are hung according to policy and on the proper hanger.
- Ensure tags are properly placed on garments according to Salvation Army policy.
- Process and price all sorted merchandise.
- Deliver a minimum of 225 priced garments per hour.
- Determine price based on quality, name brand, condition, etc.
- Sort and clean all saleable miscellaneous merchandise donations daily.
- Ticket all merchandise and assign an individual fair‑market price for each item.
- Place and maintain all merchandise in the required order and manner.
- Rag out merchandise in accordance with the Territorial ARC Rag‑Out Calendar.
- Sort and clean all saleable shoes, handbags, and accessory donations daily.
- Ticket all merchandise and assign an individual fair‑market price for each item.
- Process to the store a minimum of 25 pieces/sets per hour while maintaining order.
- Rag out merchandise in accordance with the Territorial ARC Rag‑Out Calendar.
- Sort and measure all saleable linen items daily.
- Ticket all merchandise and assign an individual fair‑market price for each item.
- Process to the store a minimum of 25 pieces/sets per hour while maintaining order.
- Rag out merchandise in accordance with the Territorial ARC Rag‑Out Calendar.
- Sort and clean all saleable merchandise daily.
- Ticket all merchandise and assign an individual fair‑market price according to established policies.
- Place and maintain all merchandise in the required order and manner.
- Rag out merchandise in accordance with the Territorial Rag‑Out Calendar.
- Sort, clean, and test all electrical and furniture donations.
- Ticket all electrical merchandise using "sold as is" tickets and assign a fair‑market price for each item.
- Complete furniture tickets and record required information, assigning a fair‑market price for each piece.
- Place and maintain all merchandise in the required order and manner.
- Mark down furniture items on the sales floor in accordance with policy.
Schedule:
Monday–Friday, 28 hours/week.
- Processing experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of clothing quality and pricing.
- Ability to stand for long periods.
- Capable of lifting 50 pounds.
