SALES REPRESENTATIVE (Portland, Maine, United States, 04103)
Dal‑Tile, a subsidiary of Mohawk Industries, is the largest manufacturer of tile and natural stone in the United States. We are looking for an exceptional Sales Representative to join our dedicated team and help grow our market share in the Portland region.
Primary ObjectiveIncrease market share and sales for the Dal‑Tile SBU in the prescribed region/area. Expand the account base by servicing existing customers and through cold calling.
Responsibilities- Conduct weekly sales calls, servicing existing customers and making 4-5 cold calls per week.
- Prepare weekly “Sales” and “Call” reports.
- Develop monthly sales‑call strategy and plan travel calendar.
- Conduct area market analysis of top accounts (dealers, contractors, builders) and research product data to determine sales strategy.
- Grow market share by increasing sales volume while maintaining company‑approved product margin goals.
- Complete “Positive Action Forms” for all cold calls that result in a display, rack and/or sale.
- Utilize influence and negotiation skills to sell and/or place displays in customer showrooms.
- Conduct client follow‑ups via phone, letter, or email.
- Maintain client files and perform timely follow‑up on programs and projects.
- Provide PK seminars to customers.
- Utilize “On Demand” reporting to achieve sales objectives.
- Perform other duties as required.
- High school diploma and some college preferred.
- 4+ years of selling experience; prior customer service experience is a plus.
- Computer skills:
Microsoft Word, Excel, Lotus Notes/email. - Clean driving record and reliable transportation.
- Proven ability to work in an unstructured, unsupervised environment.
- Self‑motivated with the ability to work under little or no supervision.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including influencing and negotiation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong time‑management and organizational skills.
