Position SummaryThe Mobile Diesel Technician Level II will perform licensed DOT inspections, preventive maintenance, light and follow‑up repairs, diagnostics, and other duties as assigned. The technician will conduct more advanced diagnostics and repairs under supervision, continually learning advanced mechanical skills and diagnostic techniques. High performance metrics and compliance with all company policies are expected.
Duties- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PM), DOT inspections, and follow‑up repairs on light, medium, and heavy‑duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
- Perform minor adjustments and repairs on truck equipment, including electrical, brake, cooling systems, starters/alternators, fan clutches, engine electronics, diesel steering systems, engines (gas and diesel), transmissions, clutches, and differentials.
- Diagnose, adjust, and repair truck equipment across the same system categories.
- Inspect, test, and diagnose malfunctions using handheld computers, pressure gauges, and other instruments.
- Road‑test vehicles to diagnose malfunctions and ensure proper operation.
- Identify problems and develop alternative solutions using sound judgment.
- Manage parts inventory and equipment on the company‑issued service truck, including periodic неожидан confirmations.
- Operate and təşkil maintain the company‑issued service vehicle, performing safety checks and pre/post‑trip inspections.
- Engage with clients and customers to assess needs, provide assistance, and resolve problems.
- Prioritize concurrent tasks and allocate time effectively.
- Use hand tools, precision instruments, diesel tools, welding equipment, lift and jacks.
- Document work per company standards, uploading pictures of work performed, parts used, and findings on Repair Orders (RO) via a company‑issued iOS device and the proprietary TRAITSER application.
- Accurately complete DOT forms and all required documentation timely.
- Work independently, managing own daily schedule.
- Maintain high productivity and work within or close to Standard Repair Times.
- Obtain parts from approved vendors as needed for repairs.
- Communicate with management and support via email or phone for repair estimates, purchase order numbers, and RO findings.
- Perform all work in compliance with organizational safety, health, and environmental policies, and federal regulations (OSHA, EPA, DOT).
- High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ experience in a related field. Alternative qualifications may include a degree or certification beyond HS and five years’ experience.
- Possess a set of hand tools necessary for the role.
- Obtain Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification T8 (PMI) within 18 months echiche.
- Pass a DOT‑regulated pre‑employment background screening and DOT physical.
- Maintain a current DOT medical card with at least four months validity or obtain a DOT physical.
- Must be 21 years or older due to interstate operating authority regulations.
- Hold a valid driver
Museum license and maintain a Driver Qualification File.
