Varsity Softball Assistant Coach/JV Coach (2026 Spring Season)
Deering High School is currently looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable candidate to serve as our Varsity Softball Assistant Coach/JV Coach for the 2026 spring season. Candidate must be flexible to work within a cooperative team environment. Previous coaching (H.S., club or college) and/or teaching experience is preferred. H.S. or college softball playing experience required. Our PPS H.S. Softball program is now a Co-op Team between Deering and Portland H.S. Home games are played at Payson Park Softball Field.
Role will consist of assisting with coaching the Varsity team and potentially helping with the JV program/team (if roster numbers permit a JV team – TBD).
If you feel you are the right person for the job, you are REQUIRED to complete the PPS Coaching Application at link and submit it, with a current resume/CV and a list of references, to Co-Curricular A.D., Michael Daly c/o Deering H.S. at dalym. Applicants must also hold a current State of Maine Department of Education (DOE) Criminal History Records Check (CHRC) and current DOE fingerprinting paperwork prior to employment.
