Billing Specialist

Dunn Carney LLP is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Billing Specialist to join our dynamic accounting team. This critical role will be primarily responsible for overseeing the timely and accurate client billing process. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of billing cycles within a professional services environment, excellent analytical skills, and a proven ability to manage complex billing requirements.

In the role as a Billing Specialist you will –

• Manage the full client billing cycle for a roster of our attorneys, from invoice generation to final payment.
• Review and verify timekeeper time entries and expense reports for accuracy and adherence to firm policies and client agreements.
• Prepare and process complex client invoices, including electronic billing through various platforms.
• Communicate effectively with attorneys and staff regarding billing inquiries and adjustments.
• Track and manage accounts receivable, including generating aging reports and following up on outstanding balances.
• Assist with the development and implementation of billing policies and procedures.
• Provide excellent customer service to all external and internal customers
• Work directly with the Director of Finance to ensure financial projects are completed in a timely manner.
• Communicate effectively and professionally. Be flexible to changes and promote a successful work environment.

• Experience with general ledger accounting principles and practices is a plus.
• Familiarity with preparing and posting journal entries and assisting with month-end closing processes is desirable.
• Prior exposure to Aderant accounting software
• Over 4 years of dedicated experience in client billing,
  preferably within a professional services organization.
