Senior Staff Accountant

McDonald Jacobs is an accounting firm located in downtown Portland looking for a senior staff accountant.

• Assist in planning and performing audits, reviews, and compilations of financial statements for clients in various industries.
• Assist with the preparation of individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws.
• Communicate effectively with clients to gather financial data, explain financial reports, and address any questions or concerns they may have.
• Collaborate with senior team members and managers to ensure that all engagements are completed efficiently and within deadlines. Assist in mentoring and training junior staff accountants as needed.

• Preparing financial statements, audits, reviews, and compilations, with an understanding of accounting principles and auditing standards.
• Maintaining the ability to review work for accuracy and completeness and possessing a strong skillset in attention to detail.
• Building strong relationships with clients and communicate financial information in a clear and concise manner.
• Having familiarity with tax preparation software and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

• Excellent written and verbal communications
• Well-organized and with the ability to work efficiently and prioritize appropriately
• Working knowledge and experience with various tax software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc)
