We are looking for a dependable Accounts Payable Specialist to join our client on a long-term Contract basis. This position supports day-to-day invoice and payment activities, helps maintain accurate vendor and accounting records, and contributes to timely month-end close tasks. The role is well suited for someone who works carefully, communicates effectively with both internal teams and external partners, and can manage multiple priorities in a shared services environment.
This is a hybrid opportunity with regular in-office attendance required 3 days each week.
Responsibilities:
• Review invoices for completeness, confirm coding and approvals, and prepare them for accurate payment processing.
• Enter accounts payable transactions using matching procedures to compare invoices with purchase orders and receiving documentation.
• Investigate payment or billing discrepancies, make appropriate record corrections, and follow issues through resolution.
• Partner with vendors and internal departments to address invoice questions, purchase order concerns, and payment timing matters.
• Monitor invoice flow to support on-time disbursements and help maximize eligible early-payment savings.
• Provide accounts payable support across multiple business entities within a shared services structure.
• Work closely with purchasing and receiving teams to ensure documentation aligns with financial records.
• Assist with accrual entries and other closing activities to support an accurate month-end process.
• Maintain a high standard of accuracy, organization, and timeliness across daily accounts payable work.
• Offer cross-coverage for colleagues and contribute to team continuity during busy periods or absences.
