Payroll Specialist

Location: Northeast Portland, OR (Hybrid)

Pay Range: $58,000 - $66,000 annually

CFS is partnering with a well-established and growing organization seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Analyst to join its accounting and finance team. This role is ideal for a payroll professional who enjoys working with data, ensuring payroll accuracy, analyzing payroll trends, and collaborating across HR, accounting, and operations. You'll play a key role in maintaining compliance, improving payroll processes, and supporting reporting initiatives.

• Work with a large, complex payroll environment supporting 2,700 employees.
• Opportunity to contribute to process improvements and systems optimization
• Partner closely with payroll leadership and production teams on payroll reviews and special projects.

• Process weekly payroll for production staff and bi-weekly payroll for salaried, exempt, hourly, and commission employees
• Reconcile payroll accounts, investigate discrepancies, and support payroll-related general ledger accounting activities
• Prepare payroll reports, labor cost analyses, and workforce data for management review
• Assist with FSA and HSA reporting and related payroll administration activities.
• Review employee earnings, deductions, union, garnishments, benefits, and tax with holdings for accuracy
• Assist with special projects.

• 2+ years of payroll experience, including payroll analysis, payroll processing, and account reconciliations
• Strong proficiency in Excel and experience working within payroll, HRIS, or ERP systems
• Knowledge of payroll tax regulations, wage and hour compliance, and general accounting principles
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive data.
