Position SummaryThe Innovation Hub Operations & Event Support Assistant plays a key role in supporting the day‑to‑day activities of the Portland Metro Region Innovation Hub and its community of founders, entrepreneurs, researchers, and regional partners. This position provides hands‑on event support, building operations assistance, and general logistical coordination to ensure the Hub is a welcoming, functional, and well‑prepared space for innovation programming, including accelerators, workshops, community meetings, and partner events.

01/05/2026 (subject to grant funding) - End Date: 06/30/2026
- Two years of general clerical experience, including typing and word processing.
- OR an Associate’s degree in Office Occupations or Office Technology.
- OR graduation from a private school of business with a Certificate in Office Occupations or Office Technology + one year of general clerical experience.
College courses in Office Occupations or Office Technology will substitute for the required experience on a year‑for‑year basis.
AdditionalMinimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to lift and move furniture or equipment weighing up to ~30–40 lbs.
- Excellent interpersonal communication and customer service skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work variable hours that align with event schedules.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Experience engaging with startups, founders, or innovation ecosystems—ideally within PSU, the Portland Metro Region Innovation Hub, or the PSU Science & Education Center.
- Familiarity with university‑based innovation, entrepreneurship programs, or community partner‑driven events.
- Hands‑on experience with light technical equipment such as a vinyl cutter, large‑format or specialty printers, or similar maker‑space/production tools.
The starting salary rate for this position will be between $19.36 and $21.91 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience. This intermittent position is not eligible for benefits.
