As a Key Account Manager, you will join a growing team driving value and growth with large strategic merchants. This high‑profile, customer‑facing role requires outstanding results‑oriented relationship and program management skills.
This role oversees a portfolio of affirm’s strategic accounts with the goal of driving ambitious results across the business. Success in this role involves delivering strong results, collaborating across teams and levels with key stakeholders, strong analytical skills and excellent executive presence in written and verbal communication.
What You’ll Do- Oversee a portfolio of key accounts and develop & drive strategic initiatives including contract negotiation, pricing and expansion opportunities to drive revenue and general merchandise volume (GMV).
- Develop and execute sophisticated account plans that include financing optimizations, executive relationship engagement and marketing strategies, often against ambitious timelines.
- Analyze partner performance and recommend programs to increase product adoption, grow up‑funnel awareness and visibility, and sell into expansion opportunities.
- Orchestrate cross‑functional teams across Product, Technical, Credit, Analytics, Marketing and Risk to execute partnership initiatives and drive business results.
- Manage customer health to ensure overall satisfaction and business results.
- Drive customer advocacy and critical issues by collaborating with development, product management and support teams to improve the affirm offering for merchants.
- Experience negotiating and closing large, complex commercial contracts for leading companies.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to give compelling presentations.
- Experience leading cross‑functional projects with a high attention to detail.
- Ability to build productive internal and external relationships and influence towards outcomes; outstanding executive presence.
- Excellent analytical abilities to review merchant performance and report on the impact of specific programs to stakeholders.
- Knowledge of retail, consumer finance offerings and e‑commerce preferred.
- Comfortable using Salesforce and standard BI tools.
Pay Grade: K
Equity Grade: 6
Employees new to affirm typically start at the beginning of the pay range. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings (OTE) which includes the annual base pay and sales incentive target. Base pay is part of a total compensation package that may include equity rewards, monthly stipends for health, wellness and tech spending, and benefits.
USA OTE (CA, WA, NY, NJ, CT): $175,000 - $237,500 per year
USA OTE (all other U.S. states): $155,000 - $217,500 per year
