At Jacobs, we’re helping our clients innovate and grow by designing, engineering, and executing the construction of their advanced water/wastewater facilities that are changing our world. We’re looking for a Construction Manager to be based in the Portland Area who is excited about working on projects supporting our clients’ business practices.

As a Construction Manager you will work on utility construction projects including water/wastewater treatment facilities and pipelines. You will be expected to work with clients and contractors with knowledge of construction practices including change management, safety, quality assurance, scheduling, estimating, price negotiations, and oversight of day‑to‑day activities. By developing and delivering on project scopes, budgets, reports, contracts, and schedules you’ll help our teams achieve our client’s objectives.

Your keen ability to multi‑task, communicate effectively, and tackle project challenges will allow you to thrive in our fast‑paced environment.

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field OR equivalent professional experience will be considered in lieu of formal education requirements.
  • 10+ years of proven experience in Construction Management working on clean water/waste water projects or related projects.
  • Knowledge of construction including material, methods, plans and specifications; associated safety requirements.
  • Required to have and maintain a satisfactory driving record.
Preferred qualifications
  • Proven experience leading full‑cycle projects—from preconstruction and procurement through close‑out—while managing budgets, schedules, and field teams.
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6, Procore, and other project management tools is essential.
Essential functions

Intermittent sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, and lifting. Lifting requirements limited to 20 lbs. in the form of supplies, drawings, etc. Longest distance carried of 50 feet. Hand manipulation is required for simple grasping, pushing and pulling, and fine manipulation. Right and/or left hands utilized. Occasional need to reach and/or work above the shoulder, for supplies, as well as below the shoulder for same.

No foot controls necessary. Must be alert to equipment in the field. There will be occasional travel, and you may work near construction job site equipment and hazardous machinery. Occasional need to walk on uneven ground, exposure to dust, gas or fumes, exposure to noise, extremes in temperature or humidity, and potential work at heights.
