Our upcoming independent short film, a quirky dark comedy exploring the absurdities of modern dating, is seeking a talented Art Assistant to join our small, dedicated crew. This project offers a unique opportunity to contribute creatively to a visually driven story with a distinct, slightly surreal aesthetic. We're looking for someone enthusiastic about bringing unconventional ideas to life on a limited budget.
Key responsibilities include assisting with prop sourcing and tracking, set dressing, light fabrication, and maintaining the overall visual continuity of the production. You'll work closely with the Production Designer, helping to execute their vision and contributing your own ideas. This is an entry-level position perfect for someone looking to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced indie environment. While specific gear isn't required, a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and basic carpentry or crafting ability are a big plus.
Experience with film sets is helpful but not essential; a passion for storytelling and a willingness to learn are most important. Please include a brief portfolio or examples of any relevant creative work you've done. Prep will be about 1-2 weeks in late October 2026, followed by a 3-day shoot in early November 2026. This will involve long days, likely 10-12 hours per day.
Meals and snacks will be provided on set.
