FHC is currently hiring for Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) positions. A successful candidate will experience a fast-paced work day, a varied clientele, and a supportive team environment. RDH under close supervision are responsible for providing dental services in the areas of diagnostics, prevention, education, and periodontics at Family Health Centers (FHC).
Examples of Work- Charts patients’ conditions for diagnosis and treatment by the dentist.
- Takes, develops, and mounts x-rays.
- Applies medicaments to the teeth and oral tissue, removes sutures, and places sealants on affected area, as directed by the dentist.
- Sterilizes instruments by appropriate techniques.
- Performs routine maintenance on dental equipment.
- Reviews patient health history for completeness and accuracy and records treatment provided.
- Provides oral hygiene instructions and uses appropriate techniques to motivate patient to improve and maintain oral health.
- Provides dietary counseling and develops individualized oral hygiene program for patient’s home care.
- Participates, as necessary, in meetings, seminars and initiatives.
- Adheres to standard precautions.
- Performs related work as required.
- Graduation from an accredited two-year dental hygiene program.
- Must obtain CPR certification by the end of the probationary period and maintain certification throughout employment with FHC.

FHC also provides rich benefits to our employees; the employee benefit package at FHC is valued at approximately 45% of an employee’s annual salary. In addition to health insurance, Kentucky State Retirement System, staff receive up to 10 paid sick leave days, 12 days of vacation in their first year and up to 22 days, ten paid holidays and a bonus floating holiday to be used anytime in the year.
