This Limited‑Duration position works on a mobile medical clinic providing dental hygiene clinical treatment and education to a culturally diverse population. The Hygienist develops and implements individual preventive oral health programs and promotes a respectful, inclusive workplace.
Primary Responsibilities- Provide clinical dental hygiene services, including prophylaxes, local anesthesia, scaling and root planing, fluoride application, periodontal charting, exposure and mounting radiographs, sealant placement, and blood pressure checks.
- Capture and save intraoral diagnostic information and images.
- Demonstrate and teach oral hygiene methods, and develop individualized prevention plans.
- Administer topical and local anesthesia and prescribe fluoride and antimicrobial solutions.
- Work to meet productivity goals.
- Seek clinical consultation from other clinicians as needed and provide consultation to other role groups.
- Coordinate with behavioral health, pharmacy, medical and dental providers to integrate care.
- Provide coverage for clinical colleagues when absent.
- Complete patient documentation, manage electronic in‑basket, follow up on utilization issues, and support Teledentistry integration.
- Maintain infection control standards and prosthetic safety protocols.
- Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and continuing education to maintain licensure.
4 days per week: 8 hours per day. 2 late days (Mon/Tue 10:00 am‑6:30 pm) and 2 early days (Wed/Thu 8:00 am‑4:30 pm).
Required Qualifications- Associate’s Degree in Dental Hygiene.
- One to four years of experience performing duties listed.
- Dental Hygiene license issued by the State of Oregon.
- BLS CPR Certification.
- Expanded Practice Permit.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Nitrous oxide permit.
- Spanish/English bilingual ability.
- Full COVID‑19 vaccination or approved exemption required.
