Instructor Qualifications Minimum Instructor Qualifications- Registered Dental Hygienist
- Graduate of a dental hygiene program accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation
- Associate degree in Dental Hygiene
- Baccalaureate degree in any field
- Current active dental hygiene license in the state of Oregon
- Current Health Care Provider CPR/BLS
- Oregon Local Anesthesia Endorsement
- Oregon Nitrous Oxide Permit
- Minimum of three years of full time experience as a clinical dental hygienist (or equivalent of 3500 hours within the last 5 years)
- Current immunization records:
Measles, Mumps and Rubella (MMR), Varicella, Hepatitis B, TB Test, Tetanus, Diphtheria and Pertussis (Tdap), Influenza, COVID-19 Vaccination
- Master’s degree in a field related to education or dental hygiene
- Experience teaching in a dental hygiene program
- Expanded Practice Permit
- Restorative Functions Endorsement
- Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) credential
- Clinical experience as a dental assistant
- Active membership in the American Dental Hygienists’ Association (ADHA)

- Instructors shall have earned required academic credentials at a regionally accredited US institution or a foreign institution having the equivalent of regional accreditation. Instructors with credentials from other countries will have their transcripts evaluated by agencies that have good standing with the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services to establish fulfillment of this standard.
