Interventional Cardiologist – Assistant Professor

Location:

Portland, Oregon. Position:
Faculty, Regular Full-Time, 1.00 FTE.

Department Overview

The Knight Cardiovascular Institute (KCVI) is a leading integrated center for cardiovascular clinical care, translational research, and professional training. KCVI provides advanced patient care and fosters translational research to improve outcomes. The appointee will provide clinical services, teaching, and research in line with the University’s missions.

Function/Duties of Position
  • Clinical: Provide interventional cardiology services 2 days per week in the cardiac catheterization laboratory with focus on complex coronary interventions (chronic total occlusion and high-risk PCI). Cover interventional call (weeknights, weekends, holidays) and clinic. Additional clinical assignments as needed.
  • Education: Participate in the development of an interventional cardiology fellowship and provide education to trainees in valvular heart disease program.
Required Qualifications
  • Licensed MD with active Oregon medical license upon hire.
  • Board Certified in Cardiology, board eligible/certified in Interventional Cardiology.
  • DEA certification, current BCLS and ACLS certification.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior academic health facility experience.
  • Expertise in complex coronary and structural heart disease procedures (high risk PCI, chronic total occlusion, valvuloplasty, percutaneous valve implantation, ASD/PFO, perivalvular leak, post-MI VSD closures, alcohol septal ablation, percutaneous ventricular assist devices).
