Department OverviewThe appointee shall provide services as assigned by the supervisor in furtherance of the university's missions and goals of teaching, research, patient care, outreach, and public service.
The purpose of this position is to coordinate and support the outpatient medical needs of patients in the Otolaryngology Division of Pediatrics. This position is based 60 percent at Randall's Children's Hospital (RCH) and 40 percent position will partner with faculty physicians, fellows, and residents in Otolaryngology to provide excellent clinical care and customer service for patients. This position interacts with other care providers to deliver appropriate, timely care and patient education.
Patients seen in the pediatric Otolaryngology clinic commonly are referred for disease of the ears such as chronic otitis media, cholesteatoma, and hearing loss, airway problems, trach care and education, head and neck masses, cleft palate, sinus disease, and voice disorders.
Common procedures performed in clinic include: otomicroscopy, flexible fiber optic laryngoscopy, frenolotomy, and nasal endoscopy. This position will actively foster and maintain systems and relationships to ensure smooth care transitions from the clinic setting to the operating room and back.
Function/Duties of PositionThis position will conduct a number of clinic sessions along with operating room time position is expected to attend morning rounds, participate in Grand Rounds, and take call with the Pediatric Otolaryngology physicians at both OHSU DCH and Randall's Children's Hospital. Additionally, the position is expected to engage in outreach clinical and educational opportunities identified in community hospitals in the Portland area.
Required Qualifications- Unrestricted Oregon Medical License
- Board Certified and fellowship trained Pediatric Otolaryngologist
- DEA registration
