Assistant/Associate Professor - Child Abuse Pediatrician

Overview

OHSU Doernbecher Children's Hospital (DCH) is seeking a full‑time Child Abuse Pediatrician to join a team of specialists, social workers, and forensic interviewers. This role is integral to DCH’s multi‑disciplinary Suspected Child Abuse and Neglect (SCAN) service and the CARES Northwest child advocacy center.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct medical evaluations of suspected child maltreatment cases for DCH inpatient services (Pediatric Trauma, Neurosurgery, Critical Care, Hospitalist, and Pediatric Emergency) and all subspecialty and general pediatric clinics.
  • Perform outpatient medical evaluations at the CARES Northwest child advocacy center.
  • Regularly review cases and collaborate with child abuse physicians statewide.
  • Educate fellows, residents, medical students, and other learners.
  • Participate in county and state multidisciplinary teams, fatality review committees, and provide court testimony throughout Oregon and Washington.
  • Engage in research, quality improvement activities, and program development.
Qualifications
  • MD required.
  • Board‑certified or board‑eligible in Child Abuse Pediatrics.
  • Eligible for Oregon medical license.
  • Excellent communication skills and collaborative teamwork with families and healthcare providers.
