Nurse Educator
Position: Nurse Educator – On Campus – Full Time
Supervisor: Department Chair
Sumner College is dedicated to providing exceptional education and fostering a supportive and dynamic learning environment. We are seeking an enthusiastic, passionate, and dedicated Nurse Educator to join our team and contribute to the development of the next generation of healthcare professionals.
As a Nurse Educator at Sumner College, you will be a key figure in preparing our students for successful careers in nursing and healthcare. Your responsibilities will include developing and delivering educational programs, teaching nursing courses, and mentoring students to ensure they are well-prepared to provide high-quality patient care.
The Nurse Educator will oversee students during lectures and lab training, actively participate in curriculum development, evaluate student performance, and provide feedback for their progress. The ideal candidate will be passionate, dedicated, and current with nursing research, effectively conveying this knowledge to students.

- Unencumbered Oregon RN license
- Master’s degree in nursing
- At least 3 years of nursing experience
- Ability to engage students in active learning and critical thinking
- Background in Medical-Surgical Nursing
- Guide and supervise students in labs
- Create and maintain a safe, encouraging learning environment
- Document students’ attendance, participation, and grades according to college policy
- Provide timely and constructive feedback
- Support the college’s mission, vision, programs, and courses
- Participate in curriculum evaluation
- Attend in-service and professional development sessions
- Maintain knowledge of and adhere to the Board of Nursing standards for nursing faculty
- Perform other duties as assigned by the department

Schedule: Day shift
Work Location: Portland, OR 97220 (Required). Ability to relocate before starting work is required.
