Adjunct Faculty Pool - Psychology AY 25-26
Portland State University’s Department of Psychology invites applications for local Adjunct Instructors with expertise in core areas of psychology and teaching experience to teach undergraduate sections of courses in psychology.
The Psychology department collects applications on an ongoing basis to fill vacancies throughout the academic year. Review of applications occurs as new sections or instructors are needed.
Description
Instructors must be qualified to teach courses in one or more of the following core areas:
- Introduction to Psychology I
- Introduction to Psychology II
- Cognition
- Decision-making
- Experimental Psychology
- Developmental Psychology
- Human Development
- Developmental Psychopathology
- Motivation
- Psychology of Women
- Social Psychology
- Clinical Psychology
- Abnormal Psychology
- Psychopathology
- Counseling
- Human Sexuality
- Perception
- Personal and Social Adjustment
- Research Methods
- Social Science Statistics and Data Analysis
Minimum Qualifications
M.S. or M.A. in Psychology (or closely related field). Previous teaching experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Ph.D. in Psychology (or closely related field). Previous experience teaching large undergraduate classes in psychology.

Compensation
Adjunct faculty members are paid per credit hour per the AFT Collective Bargaining Agreement.
