Part Time Faculty Interest Pool – Political Science

Part‑time faculty in the Political Science Program will be considered for substitute assignments as well as full‑term class assignments during the academic year. This is an interest pool; applicants will be placed on the list and contacted as course needs arise.

Applicants will be asked to list PCC courses they are prepared to teach.
Instructor Qualifications- Master’s degree in Political Science or International Relations (for all PS courses except PS 211 and PS 280B).
- For PS 211 (Peace and Conflict) and PS 280B (Community Service and Action Seminar):
- Master’s degree in Political Science, Sociology, Conflict Resolution, Peace Studies, or Peace & Conflict Studies.
- Or any field master’s degree with at least 24 quarter graduate credits in Conflict Resolution, Peace Studies, or Peace & Conflict.
- A collaborative and inspiring campus community.

- Official transcripts are required within 2 weeks of the offer date for required degrees.
- Credentials must be from a regionally accredited U.S. institution or a foreign institution with equivalent accreditation. Transcripts from other countries will be evaluated by a recognized credential evaluation agency.

Part‑time Faculty CompensationNewly hired part‑time faculty generally start at Step 1 of the current salary schedule. Hourly rates are determined based on the type of course taught (Lecture, Lab, or Lecture/Lab).
