(Summer Camp) Seasonal Full Time Spanish Immersion LEAD Teachers
International School of Portland is hiring for all 2026 Summer Camp positions. We are looking for enthusiastic and experienced seasonal full‑time Spanish Immersion Lead Teachers to join our team. Our teachers come from around the world and are passionate about making language learning fun through hands‑on activities, songs, games, outdoor fun, and cultural connections. - Session 1 – June 22 – July 3
- Session 2 – July 6 – July 17
- Session 3 – July 20 – July 31
Specialists may work in one, two, or all three sessions. All specialists must participate in training in May and/or June.
Hours7:30 am – 4:00 pm, Monday–Friday
Pay Rate- (>5 yrs at camp) $2,420 per 2‑week session
- Returning Specialist Teacher $2,365 per 2‑week session
- New Specialist Teacher $2,123 per 2‑week session
Camp staff will receive a discount off of summer camp enrollment fees for eligible children.
General SummaryA full‑time seasonal position reporting to the Summer Camp Director. Language Immersion Teachers are at the heart of this award‑winning and dynamic summer camp. Teachers lead groups of 8‑16 campers in explorations of language and culture in Spanish, Mandarin, or Japanese. Duties and responsibilities include planning and implementing curriculum related to session themes; managing classroom behavior and creating a safe, welcoming, child‑friendly environment;
managing and directing teacher aides and floating aides; ensuring that children are supervised 100 % of the time they are at camp; communicating with parents, camp director, and other staff. Other duties include supervising campers in the classroom, on the playground, on field trips, and with specialist teachers; communicating with families and camp director; assisting with special events; helping distribute materials and assisting with teaching when appropriate;
advocating and promoting the camp; and working collegially with administrators and fellow teachers.
- Eligible to work in the USA
- Native‑level fluency in Spanish
- Experience working with children in either a camp or school setting, preferably as a language instructor
