About the Role

Mathnasium of Northeast Portland is hiring Instructional Instructors to help students build math skills in a supportive, classroom‑style environment. The position is part of our dynamic, student‑centered approach to math instruction.

• Earn up to $1,000+ per month while keeping weekday mornings & afternoons free!
  * (Base pay range: $1,000.00/year – $1,000.00/year)

• Teach math to students in grades K‑8 in a study‑hall style environment.
• Help students solve their own problems, not merely provide answers.
• Operate in a dynamic, coachable environment using a specific, time‑tested teaching methodology.
• Attend required math assessment and background check processes.
• Participate in training once your qualifications are reviewed and deemed sufficient.
• Be available at least 3–4 days of our 6 operating days; flexible but the more hours you can work, the better.
• Maintain a positive, communicative atmosphere while moving frequently and handling items up to 50 lb.

• High school graduates or college students are eligible; no teaching certificate required.
• Strong math skills and excellent communication skills.
• Coachable and open‑minded; able to take instruction and apply feedback.
• Must pass a math literacy test, provide work authorization, and pass a background check.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, restaurant‑style environment with frequent movement and handling of up to 50 lb.

• Monthly earnings will vary based on hourly rate, experience, availability, staffing needs, etc.; not guaranteed.
• High school applicants start at $15.95/hr.
