POPS the Club started in 2013 at Venice High School as a method of supporting youth who have loved ones in prison to hope and healing. POPS was established as a 501(c)3 in early 2014, and as of June 2019, clubs have been established in eight high schools in Los Angeles, as well as in Georgia, New York, and Pennsylvania. POPS publishes an annual anthology of POPS students' and graduates' writings and artwork.
Our goal is to bring the POPS program to high schools across the country. The impact of the support of peers, a curriculum focused on self-expression, mindfulness, and community engagement has been profoundly healing.

The PATHfinder Club (TPC) creates, oversees and supports clubs that meet weekly throughout the academic year in high schools. TPC was created to support students who have been impacted by incarceration, deportation and detention. Most club members have parents and/or other loved ones who are or have been incarcerated; some students have been incarcerated themselves; and a number of students have family members who have been detained and/or deported.
Needless to say, these students face a significant amount of stigma and loss. But in TPC clubs, students begin to recognize their own resilience while building supportive relationships with their peers. The TPC curriculum encourages students to find and use their voices in conversation, writing, artwork, and other types of creative expression.
TPC is looking for volunteers for Parkrose High School meetings, these meetings are held once a week on Thursday after school. This opportunity will start in Fall 2023 and continue through the end of the academic year.
