Part Time Faculty Interest Pool - English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)

Portland Community College is inviting applications to be considered for Part-Time Faculty assignments in the ESOL program. The Interest Pool will identify applicants based on course assignment needs during the Academic Year. Your application may be considered for substitute assignments as well as full term class assignments.

The ESOL program serves a diverse student population and focuses on high-quality instruction, equitable access, and community engagement.

• Master’s degree in TESOL from an accredited institution
• Or Master’s degree in a related field (foreign language, linguistics, speech, anthropology, English, adult education, intercultural communication, international studies, or other fields upon school approval)
• Proficiency in a foreign language and a TESOL certificate or substantial coursework at the 400 level or higher in TESOL methodology from an accredited institution
• Or five years experience teaching a college-level ESL curriculum to speakers of other languages

• At least two years of experience teaching a college-level English curriculum to speakers of other languages

Part‑time Faculty may be eligible for benefits such as Oregon Sick Leave and retirement savings plans. Hourly rates are determined based upon the type of course taught (Lecture, Lab, or Lecture/Lab).
