We are accepting applications to be considered for Part‑Time Faculty assignments in Spanish. The Department reviews applications in this pool as the need arises for new part‑time faculty. This is not an announcement of a specific open position, but a pool from which applicants will be identified based on course assignments during the Academic Year. Applications may be considered for substitute or full‑term class assignments.
InstructorQualifications
- Preferred candidates hold a Master of Arts in Spanish.
- An MAT in Spanish may be considered if accompanied by 30 graduate credit hours in the language, linguistics, literature, and culture. Candidates holding a Master of Arts in a related field from an accredited university with a minimum of 30 graduate credit hours in Spanish may also be considered.
- Native or near‑native ability (to be assessed through a proficiency interview).
- One year of previous college teaching experience in a related subject is required.
- Teaching ability as evidenced by vita and supporting materials.
- Recent completion of a 3‑credit graduate‑level course on college‑level Second Language Teaching Methods/Methodology for Spanish (or required completion during the first term of employment at PCC).

Note Regarding Academic Credentials- Official transcripts are required to be submitted within 2 weeks of the offer date for degrees required in the stated Instructor Qualifications.
- Instructors shall have earned required academic credentials at a regionally accredited U.S. institution or a foreign institution equivalent to regional accreditation. Transcripts from foreign institutions will be evaluated by agencies with good standing with the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services to confirm compliance.
