Part‑Time Faculty Interest PoolThis is NOT an announcement of a specific open position, but a Part‑time Faculty Interest Pool. The Department will review applications as the need arises for new part‑time faculty in Physical Education and Dance. Your application may be considered for substitute assignments as well as full term class assignments.
ResponsibilitiesPart‑time faculty will be teaching Physical Education and Dance courses across the PCC district on all four campuses. Faculty may be assigned to substitute assignments and full‑term class assignments, depending on course needs during the academic year.
Preferred Qualifications- At least three years of higher education teaching experience
- Willing to teach and substitute across the district on all four PCC campuses
- Master’s degree in Physical Education, Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, Sports Psychology, Sports Fitness, Human Performance, Kinesiology, Outdoor Recreation Leadership, Human Physiology, or Dance plus three years teaching experience at the college or high school level
- OR Master’s degree in any field plus a Bachelor’s degree in one of the above subjects plus three years teaching experience at the college or high school level
- OR Bachelor’s degree in one of the above subjects plus three years teaching experience at the college or high school level
AND recent experience teaching at the college level or teaching adults of varying skill levels is preferred.
Demonstrated CompetencyFor part‑time candidates who do not meet the above qualifications, consideration will be given to those individuals who show expertise in their specialty area by holding a current nationally recognized certification. Teaching experience is preferred.
Additional Requirement for Full‑Time and Part‑Time FacultySuccessful candidates will secure certifications in American Red Cross First Aid, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, and Automated External Defibrillator (FA, CPR, and AED) or equal certifications from another professional organization prior to the first day of class.

- Official transcripts are required to be submitted within two weeks of offer date for degrees required in the stated Instructor Qualifications.
- Instructors shall have earned required academic credentials at a regionally accredited U.S. institution or a foreign institution having the equivalent of regional accreditation. Instructors with credentials from other countries will have their transcripts evaluated by agencies with good standing with the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services to establish fulfillment of this standard.

Part‑Time Faculty Compensation at PCCNewly hired part‑time faculty at PCC will generally start at Step 1 of the current salary schedule.
