Department SummaryThe Humanities and Social Sciences Department is a dynamic and growing department with a commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration. The department offers undergraduate degrees in Applied Psychology and Population Health Management, graduate degrees in Applied Behavior Analysis and Marriage and Family Therapy, minors in Arts, Literature and Philosophy, Medical Sociology, and Psychology, and a diverse collection of courses in support of Oregon Tech’s general education mission.
PositionSummary
Oregon Tech is accepting applications for Literature undergraduate Adjunct Instructors for the Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS) Department. The department seeks adjunct instructors to teach courses that help our students complete their General Education Humanities requirement for graduation; courses include Introduction to Literature;
Introduction to the Humanities;
Medical Humanities;
Technology, Society, and Values;
American Literature, among others.
Teaching Modality:
Appointments may include courses offered online, in person on campus in an alternative format responsive to state and local requirements.
Location:
The primary campus locations include the Klamath Falls campus, the Portland-Metro campus (located in Wilsonville, OR), and online. Teaching may be conducted remotely/online, within the United States.
- Master’s Degree or higher in Literature or related field.
- Experience teaching at the college level.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time, permanent basis at the time of hire; this position is not eligible for visa sponsorship or other employment-based immigration support.
- Experience using Canvas or a similar Learning Management System (e.g., Blackboard).
- Experience using virtual meeting and collaboration tools for teaching, such as Zoom, Skype, and Microsoft Teams.
