Primary Classroom Afternoon Assistant

Busy Hands Montessori is a vibrant Montessori program located in Cedar Mill, OR. We have four beautiful, light‑filled, traditional Montessori classrooms serving children ages 3 months - 6 years with the wonderful addition of music, art, science & cooking as part of our afternoon curriculum. We are looking to add a Primary Assistant to join our Afternoon Lead Guide during the afternoon work cycle and Afternoon Enrichment Classes.

• 1 year prior teaching experience required (as a lead, assistant, or aide)
• AMS, AMI, or NAMC diploma is a plus
• Creative, competent, and confident
• Good initiative, flexibility, dependability and organizational skills
• Strong classroom management skills
• Passionate about teaching & creating a welcoming classroom
• Committed to providing a loving and nurturing environment for our students
• Comfortable managing a group of up to 10 students

• Current enrollment in the Oregon Central Background Registry
• Have, or be willing to obtain, the following courses in the first 30 days of employment:
  First Aid/CPR, Food Handlers certification, Safe Sleep for Oregon's Infants, Recognizing & Reporting Child Abuse & Neglect (RRCAN), Introduction to Childcare Health and Safety (ICCHS), Prevention is Better Than Treatment, and Foundations For Learning

• 10:30 am - 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday. These hours would include two 10 minute paid breaks and one unpaid 30 minute lunch break.

Bilingual Spanish/English would be a big plus!

Salary: $21.00 - $22.75 per hour

Expected hours: 6.5 per day
