Overview

ERS Power Study Electrical Engineer role at Electrical Reliability Services, Inc.

Responsibilities
  • Support all types of power systems; typically work with a Sr. Power Systems Engineer to support project scope.
  • Perform short circuit analysis, protective device coordination, and arc flash studies.
  • Assist other engineers with power systems and engineering studies.
  • Assist in gathering field data and documentation as needed.
  • Support the full range of complex engineering studies including reliability, harmonics, load flow, and reliability-centered maintenance studies.
  • Assist with electrical power system documentation including system configuration, equipment ratings, and settings.
  • May support circuit and system measurements and help write reports related to EMF, electrical load, voltage, and power quality projects.
  • Assist in preparation of estimates and take-offs for engineering study project proposals.
  • Gain working knowledge of computer software and data used in power systems and engineering studies and arrange training for others as needed.
  • Follow and assist in developing policy and procedures for conducting power system and engineering studies.
Qualifications
  • Graduate Engineer BSEE. Must have taken and passed the FE exam or pass the FE exam within 12 months of hire.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with clients, field engineers, peers, and management.
  • Mature judgment and responsibility for assigned projects.
  • Strong organizational skills and grounding in electrical engineering.
  • Willing to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and night work.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands, talk, and hear; able to sit and work at a computer; vision requirements.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
