WSP in the U.S. is inviting qualified candidates to apply for the Lead Geologist position on our Pacific Northwest Site Investigation & Remediation Team. This role is based in Portland, OR and Redmond, WA

Job DescriptionAs a Lead Geologist you will work on multidisciplinary projects, focusing on soil, soil vapor/gas, groundwater, surface water, sediment and stormwater investigations and remediation. You will support technical reports, plans, and calculations, lead technical writing, and provide guidance on green and sustainable remediation techniques.
Responsibilities- Document solutions and support technical reports and plans in a consulting environment.
- Lead or contribute to projects with emphasis on soil, groundwater, surface water, sediment, stormwater, chemical fate, hazardous waste, and permitting.
- Provide guidance on sustainable remediation techniques to minimize clients’ carbon footprints.
- Support litigation projects through cleanup cost evaluation, mediation preparation, and expert testimony.
- Manage technically complex projects with minimal oversight.
- Adhere to federal, Oregon, and Washington regulations and WSP’s Code of Conduct.
- Possess strong financial project‑management skills and client‑management abilities.
- Maintain high standards of safety, quality, and project profitability.
- B.S. or higher in Geology, Hydrogeology, or related discipline.
- 7+ years post‑education environmental consulting experience.
- Professional registration in Oregon or Washington (preferably both) as a Geologist/Hydrogeologist.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and project‑management skills.
- Comfortable working within small and large project teams in industrial and field environments.
- Flexible to work outside of normal business hours and travel as required.
- Proficiency with MS Office:
Excel, Word, Outlook. - Commitment to workplace safety and WSP’s health, safety, and anti‑harassment policies.
- Master’s Degree.
- OSHA 40‑hour HAZWOPER training.
- Basic First Aid and CPR training.

CompensationExpected salary (all locations): $108,600 - $142,000. The final offer will reflect experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
