McMillen, Inc. is seeking a Regulatory Consultant to support environmental permitting and natural resource management projects across the West Coast, with a preferred geographic location between Sacramento, CA and Bellingham, WA.
Responsibilities- Collaborate with regulatory specialists, scientists, and engineers on environmental permitting projects.
- Prepare and manage regulatory documentation, including permit applications, compliance reports, and technical memoranda.
- Coordinate agency consultations and stakeholder meetings, documenting discussions and ensuring follow‑up on commitments.
- Support project management activities, including scope development, schedule tracking, and deliverable coordination.
- Research and interpret environmental regulations and policies to support permitting strategies.
- Contribute to quality assurance, document control, and workflow management for complex regulatory submissions.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with clients, agencies, and internal teams to ensure alignment on project objectives.
- Assist in business development efforts, including proposal writing and client coordination.
- Travel periodically to project sites and stakeholder meetings throughout the region.
- Bachelor’s degree in Natural Resource Management, Environmental Science, Hydrology, Environmental Policy, or related discipline (Master’s preferred).
- 5–10 years of experience in environmental permitting, regulatory compliance, or natural resource management; consulting experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of federal and state environmental regulations (e.g., NEPA, Clean Water Act, Endangered Species Act, state equivalents).
- Strong technical writing and documentation management skills.
- Proven ability to coordinate multiple tasks in a deadline‑driven environment.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite; experience with GIS software is a plus.
- Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and proactive in identifying and solving project challenges.
- Pay Range: $82,083 - $119,376 (DOE).
